in my closet

Introducing (drum roll please): my closet! As you can see, I have two problems: 1. I have too many clothes 2. I'm too organized for my own good. However, color-coordinating my closet has proven to be the best way to organize my closet. It helps me find certain clothes I'm looking for and also helps me to come up with new combinations of pieces.

If you're looking for a certain shirt or sweater,
you know what color section to look for it in. And if you have a shirt and don't know what to pair it with, you can hold it against the row of clothes to see what color matches best.
I also organize my bottoms by color and type. I separate my jeans, dress pants and skirts by length, color, and season, making it easier to find and
match up with tops.

In this picture you can also see the side of a hanging organizer with shelves that I use for all my vintage scarves, belts, and more. It's a great way to keep your accessories organized and easy to see!

Lastly, I keep my shoes on the floor of my closet. Also organized by color and type (shocker) I can easily see what shoes match my outfit best.

These tips for organizing might seem obvious, but it's super important to know what you have and where it is. That way, you're not buying items that you already have and you can better assess what you have when you're trying to remix your outfits!

It might not be the most fun task ever to organize your closet, but I promise it'll help in the long run! Happy organizing!
